Veteran's Hospital Visitations

March 13, May 8 and September 11. Elks travel to G.I. to play bingo with the vets for one hour
from 7 - 8 p.m. If you are interested in making this trip, please contact Spencer Kuhl. We need
at least three people to help with the event.

Kids on the block

A Kids on the block performance is an unforgettable educational experience. Th "kids" vividly and
effectively model relationships between people both with and without disabilities, through
frank and other humorous communication of facts and feelings between the puppet characters and
the audience.

All of our puppets are operated by trained puppeteer. The program uses a set of 3 - 4 ft. tall
puppets to convey its message to children and encourage them to ask questions.

Donate Life

The Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks of the USA has joined forces
with Donate Life America to increase donations of organs, eyes and life
saving tissue.

The Grand Lodge, Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee is asking
Elks Lodges nationwide to promote the Organ Donor Program. The need is
paramount. More than 110,000 patients were waiting for organ transplants
as of March 2011, according to the Donate Life American Web site. Only 28,663
organ transplants had been performed in 2010, and even fewer - 14,502 - organ
donations had been made in that year.

For more information on the importance of donation and how to become a registered
donor go to the Donate Life Website, www.donatelife.net.

Army of Hope

"Army of Hope" is an Elks program designed to assist the families of
Military Reservists and the National Guard who have been called to
active duty during these times of crisis in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If you would be willing to assist with lawn mowing, painting projects
car repair, electrical work etc., please contact Dana Ernst for more
information.
